Dr. Marja-Liisa got Ph. D in Economics from Jyväskylä University. She has 35 years of education experience.

She is member of the Research and Innovation Councilmember, the Institute for Accountancy and the Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland. She is former President and Managing Director of Centrial University of Applied Sciences for 17 years.

She has been a member of several business organisations and participates in many business projects, such as those of the Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland. She has been a member of the board of The Finnish Council for KLT-accountants and Finnish Accounting Firms Chartering Organization since 1994 and is continuing a membership ahead. The name of organization is The Institute for Accountancy. She also holds several confidential posts and is a member of numerous co-operation groups.

Dr. Marja-Liisa had been chosen for two terms (2004-2011) as delegation member for the Fin-nish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation Tekes. Tekes works under the auspices of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy. 

Her most notable appointment has been member of the Science and Technology Policy Coun-cil for 2007-2011 by the Government. This Council is chaired by the Prime Minister. The name of this council is since 1.1.2009 the Research and Innovation Council (under the Finnish Gov-ernment). Certified Auditor of organizations of enterprises
