10-year Story of SHU MBA: Pioneer in Whole-person MBA Education

Adhering to our mission: “To develop Outstanding Whole-person and Global Local Talents People can Trust and Work with”, Shanghai University’s MBA Center (SHU MBA) thinks the future talents for business must have three key traits: firstly whole-person development, secondly Global Local, and thirdly the ability to transfer knowledge into intelligence.

It is commonly agreed that MBA graduates will gain systematic business and management knowledge from a traditional MBA education, but this is far from what enterprises consider to be sufficient. In addition, future business leaders need to know how to turn knowledge into action and always be reliable. Furthermore, future talents must possess the ability to turn science technology into innovation, art into creative ideas, and business ideas into sustainable enterprises. To achieve this, an MBA education is responsible for not only providing business skills, but also personal develop, leadership skills, and career intelligence.

With this mission in mind since its inception in 2004, SHU MBA is an educational leader in launching the systematical Whole-person MBA curriculum, so-called of (1)“Knowing-Being-Doing” curriculum. SHU MBA also use the (2) all-round develop learning method including 3 x 3*1/3 learning pattern (1/3 learning from faculty, 1/3 from students, 1/3 from yourself; 1/3 learning from campus, 1/3 from corporate and community, 1/3 from international; 1/3 learning before lecture, 1/3 during, 1/3 life-long learning)and 5-paths of the M-learning journey (starting from Mission to 4 points of curriculum& faculty, extra-curricular activities, corporate and organizations, and global local ), and (3) Cross-disciplinary Projects to encourage students to learn beyond classroom, beyond theory, beyond business school.
